Ward Road

This compound consists of several ,buildings, the oldest of which (c. 1872) was the James Seton home, now used as a camp counselors' residence. Originally sited amongst flourishing vineyards which stretched from Ward Road nearly to North Bay, the property remained in private hands until the 1930's. Since that time, the area has been converted into a fine summer camp, operated by the Erie County 4-H Club. However, in addition to 4-H functions, it now also is used as a band camp site for high school marching bands from the mainland. During August, visiting bands display their musical and marching skills both at the camp and during marches through the Island.
