November 23, 1873 - Sunday - Snowed all day. Monday it snowed. Tuesday it snowed. Wednesday it snowed when it did not rain which was nearly all day. Thursday morning it blew very hard from SW. Was glad the house was strong so it would not blow over. The lake is very low, wind SW. Friday, mail went over and came back. For a wonder it has not rained or blowed very hard. It was quite pleasant to be out doors. November 30, 1873 - Thin ice on the Lake this morning for first time.
